This policy covers the free offline iPhone and iPad edition of ਅਖਰ, published by Albel Singh. It does not describe the separate Mac prototype or any future cloud AI service.
Your research stays on your device
Searches, word connections, occurrence counts and source reading are processed on your device using the source material included in the app. Your notebook entries are saved as local files inside the app's storage. The publisher does not receive your searches or notebook contents.
This version has no account registration, cloud AI requests, advertising, analytics or developer telemetry. It does not collect contact lists, location or photos, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Optional voice search
If you start voice search or Presenter listening, including Auto follow and Continuous recitation, ਅਖਰ asks for microphone permission and processes short temporary audio segments while listening. Auto follow listens until you stop it or leave Presenter. The speech model is included in the app and runs on your device. Audio segments are discarded after recognition or cancellation; recognized words are used only to find possible lines in the included SGGS text and are not saved as a search transcript. Neither audio nor recognized words are uploaded for speech recognition. You can search by typing without granting microphone access.
Local storage and backups
Your saved notebook remains in the app's storage until you remove the data or delete the app. Deleting the app removes its local app data; offloading an app may retain its documents and data.
Apple's device backup features may include app data depending on your device and backup settings. A backup may retain a copy after you delete local data. You control those backups through Apple's settings and any computer backup tools you use. The app does not operate a separate cloud-sync or backup service.
Sharing is your choice
If you choose to copy text or use a system sharing action, you decide what to send and where to send it. The receiving app or service handles that information under its own policies. ਅਖਰ does not automatically send your notebook to the publisher.
Support
If you contact the publisher for help, the publisher receives the information you choose to provide, such as your email address and message, and uses it to respond to your request. Please avoid sending private notebook material unless it is needed for the support you request. You can ask the publisher about deleting information you supplied directly.

Support website hosting
This support website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes under its privacy statement. Visiting this website is separate from the app’s offline research functions. These pages use no analytics scripts or tracking cookies added by the publisher.
Apple services
App Store downloads, device backups and any diagnostics you choose to share with Apple are managed by Apple under its policies and your settings. These are separate from the app's local research functions.
Changes
The publisher will update this policy when the app's privacy practices change. A future version that sends research questions or other personal data to an AI provider would explain the change and request permission before that sharing begins. This version does not provide that service.
